The Daniel Defense 9.0 Free Float Rail System is the lightest mid-length rail available today. It weighs less than 11 ounces (including the threded ring, barrel nut, and idexing pins)! The 9.0 Free Float Picatinny Handguard is designed to mount from the receiver to just behind the standard front sight post of a mid-length gas system AR15 rifle. This rail can also be installed on carbine length rifles that have a low-profile gas block. The 9.0 handguard was designed to work with the AR15 midlength gas system. It will also work with the carbine system with a milled gas block that will fit under the handguard. The indexing pins are stainless steel while all other components are 6061-T6 aluminum. The finish is Mil-Spec hard coat anodized black. Rails are 1913 Mil-Spec and are 100% checked for conformity. Every rail comes with either ladders or panels which are made from santoprene, which can handle heat up to 350 degrees.
